As 2024 wraps up, we’re taking a moment to reflect—and honestly, it’s been a massive year. We welcomed a wave of new customers, a big chunk were WorkflowMax refugees on the search for a new (and improved ) solution. We’re stoked you chose ROLL, and we’ve been working hard to make it worth your while! With a little behind-the-scenes magic, we managed roll out features that actually make a difference, tackle bugs head-on, and continued to provide our customers with the epic support you’ve come to know and love. So let’s take a trip down memory lane and look back on all the epic shit we accomplished!
Features You Actually Asked For
We spent the year listening, tweaking, and building tools to keep your business running smoothly. Here’s what we rolled out:
New Quote & Invoice Engine
This was a pretty big deal for us here at ROLL, our biggest update to this feature since it was first released! The ability to create quote templates, along with the new formatting options such as the ability to add sections has seen this feature level up. Hide Quantity & Rate Columns
Prior to our heavy hitter of the year above, we gave you a little teaser of what was to come by giving you more control over your quotes and invoices. You can now choose whether you’d like the quantity and rate columns visible on the client’s version of the quote or invoice - give them a little or give them a lot!
Timesheet Management Improvements
While admins could previously log time for others and manage time from within the project’s time tab, it wasn’t the most efficient method. So we added the ability to manage users time from within the timesheet, giving you better visibility and more control within fewer clicks.

Standardized Date Display
- No more format confusion. It just works, wherever you are.
Removed the Word “Tax” from Invoices
- Because we get that not every market rolls the same way.
Custom Notification Settings
- Stay updated without being spammed.
Column Resizing and Ordering
- Your data, your layout, your call.
Mobile App Enhancements
- Making things smoother and faster.
API Upgrades
- We added functionality to view, add, and edit custom fields on projects.
Bugs be gone!
- Fixed permissions issues for employee settings.
- Sorted out notifications that kept triggering multiple times.
- Fixed retainer metrics to reflect properly.
- Stopped repeating tasks from acting up when projects get deleted.
- Cleaned up reporting for Time and Materials Projects.
- Polished Safari performance because, yes, people still use it.
We’re just getting started
2024 was about doubling down - on our customers, on improvements, and on making ROLL the tool you can rely on. Your feedback has been invaluable this year, its steered the evolution of ROLL and has aided us in delivering what you need to keep your business humming.
